Kittyhawk 1/48 Su-34 build review
Kitty Hawk’s Su-34 is a decent kit that is let down by flaws that are all too typical. But if you have the right expectations it can be an enjoyable build and makes a stunning model.
Tamiya 1/48 Fw 190D-9
Tamiya’s 1/48 Fw 190D-9 is a little gem of a kit. It keeps things simple to offer a really easy build. You just can’t go wrong with this one, it’s a delight for beginners and experienced modellers alike.
Hasegawa 1/48 F-15C
Hasegawa’s venerable 1/48 F-15 is a surprisingly nice build that stacks up well against more modern toolings. Other F-15 kits are embarrassingly poor efforts in comparison.
Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-23BN
Nice little kit of a 1980’s Warsaw Pact mainstay. No major headaches, though it is fiddly in places.
Tamiya 1/48 P-38 build review
Tamiya’s P-38 is what you might expect from one of their 1/48 kits: clever engineering to make a simple, straightforward build that fits almost perfectly.
Eduard 1/48 Fw 190A build review
Eduard’s new-tool Fw 190 is a delightful little kit. Good detail, solid fit and no headaches. If you’re after an early Wuerger, this is the kit to get.
Kinetic 1/48 F-104G Build Review
Kinetic has taken a significant step up with this kit. The fiddly landing gear are the only downside to a kit that is otherwise a joy to build.
AMK 1/48 Kfir C2 Build Review
AMK’s Kfir is a lovely, uncomplicated kit let down by fiddly landing gear.
Tamicat / AMKat Buildoff: Build Result
Tamiya’s F-14 is a joy to build. AMK’s should not have been released. Even on parole.
1/48 F-14D AMK / Tamiya Build-off! Initial impressions
Now AMK’s 1/48 F-14D is finally here, I’m going to build it side-by-side with Tamiya’s recent F-14D release. The Tamiya is said to be a lovely kit, and I recently enjoyed AMK’s Mig-31, so this ought to be fun. I bought both kits myself, and this is the first time I have built either, so you’ll be getting my honest impressions as I go, desk to keyboard with no filters in the way.
